Louis Vuitton unveils its Prefall 2009 Shoe Collection. The stand-out from the collection is the four-in-one suede boot. Playing on the idea of conscious consumerism, the shoe can be worn thigh-high, folded like a pussy boot, knee-high or as an ankle bootie. Gold zips serve a functional purpose as well as add subtle embellishment, as does the side pocket (big enough to fit a Blackberry).
An autumn-inspired leaf motif makes an appearance in the collection, on both the Lorelai, a taupe and chocolate brown stiletto with a concealed platform, and on the Amanda, a black satin pump adorned with a smattering of sequins and the aforementioned leaves in patent leather.
Louis Vuitton has paired the shoes with ribbed cotton socks, adding 1940s glamour to the collection, which is inspired, in part, by the Marilyn Monroe film Let’s Make Love.
For women looking for a shoe that’s a little more coquettish, there is the Sofia Coppola-designed range. Her elegant offering includes a sensible wedge in black and red, with fine gold piping at the toe and a delicate gold leather ankle strap.
